The Clinton Daily Herald Thursday July 14, 1904 p. 6 At her home in this city Mrs. J.D. Ahrens died at 11 o'clock last evening. Born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, November 20, 1842; she came to America when ten years of age, and in 1860, in Elk River township, was united in marriage to J.D. Ahrens. For twenty-five years they made their home in Center township and in 1884 moved to Lyons, where they have since resided. Ten children were born to them, of whom six are dead. Those who, with the grief stricken husband, survive her are Mrs. Geo. Ingwersen of Fairfax; Attorney John B. Ahrens of Lyons, Mrs. Carl Ingwersen, Chicago; Miss Anna Ahrens, at home, and one brother, Frank P. Naeve, of Andover. The funeral will be held from the residence on South Seventh street at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, followed by interment at the Ingwersen cemetery near Bryant.
