August Lueders 1880 - 1958

LUEDERS, DIERKS, ROENFELDT, GRADERT, BALDWIN

The Clinton Herald Friday October 10, 1958 p. 11 Gus Lueders, 77, 2604 N. 2nd St., died in his home Thursday evening. The body is in the Pape funeral home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday. The body will be moved to Zion Lutheran chuch at 11 a.m. Monday until the funeral time at 1:30 p.m. Rev. M.S. Bredow, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Oakland cemetery. Gus Lueders was born Oct. 19, 1880 in Hampshire township, the son of Chris and Anna Dierks Lueders. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Zion Lutheran church. He married Annie Roenfeldt, Nov. 25, 1903, in Lyons, and celebrated his golden wedding anniversary in 1953. He farmed six miles west of Clinton before moving to Clinton ten years ago. He was a member of the Odeon Association. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Clarence and Heine Lueders of Clinton; two daughters, Mrs. Peter (Jeanette) Gradert, DeWitt and Mrs. Sherman (Vera) Baldwin, Clinton, and seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, five sisters, and three brothers.
