The Clinton Herald Thursday August 15, 1918 p. 8 F. William Schwartz, widely known throughout Clinton county, and a resident of this city since 1903, died Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'cllock in Laramie, Wyo., at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Peter Ketelsen with whom he had resided for the past two years. His death followed an attack of apoplexy suffered August 5. Deceased was born in Germany, November 12, 1850, and was 67 years, nine months and five days old at the time of his demise. He came to America with his parents when 5 years of age, locating in Center township in the early 50's. January 17, 1877, he was united in marriage to Emma Marie Rockrohr. Five years later they moved to Berlin township where for 19 years they resided on a farm near Elwood. His wife preceded him in death January 12, 1915. Of the immediate family the following survive. One son, Albert of Lyons, three daughters, Mrs. Frances Ruttenbeck of Lost Nation, Mrs. Laura Ketelsen of Laramie, Wyo. and Mrs. Amelia Ruggeberg of Welton. One brother Robert Schwartz of Center township and one sister, Mrs. C.H. Wulf of Lyons. Also 15 grandchildren. The body will arrive here Friday noon and will be taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. C.H. Wulf, 510 N. Fourth street, where brief funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, followed by services at St. John's Lutheran church at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
