The Clinton Herald Tuesday February 12, 1952 p. 8 Emil H. Dierks, 64, of 823 Fifth avenue, South, died at 7:30 a.m. today in Jane Lamb hospital, where he had been a patient three weeks. Mr. Dierks had been ill since last December. Funeral services will be held in the Zion Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Friday, with Rev. M.S. Bredow officiating. The body is in the Shadduck funeral home where friends may call. Emil H. Dierks was born Dec. 25, 1887, in Hampshire township, the son of Henry and Helena Dierks. The family lived in the Bryant area for many years. He was married Sept. 6, 1911, to Miss Amanda M. Jepsen, in Clinton. The couple farmed near Miles for nine years and then came to Clinton, where they have lived since. Mr. Dierks was in the vacuum cleaning business and was the Clinton agent for the Hoover company. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, the brotherhood of the church and the Clinton Turner society. Surviving are his wife; one sister, Mrs. Peter Rittmer of Andover; four brothers, Alfred, Waterloo; Ernest, Goose Lake, and Louis and Gustav of Clinton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters in infancy.
