The Clinton Herald Tuesday April 3, 1888 p. 3 Monday night at 11:30 Mr. Charles Lamb, from the weight of his more than four score years, passed to eternal rest at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. C.F. Alden. Some four years ago he became a member of the family of Mr. Alden, and being of a retiring disposition, a cripple from a broken limb, and an aged man, he made but few acquaintances; in the summertime sitting on the veranda of his daughter's residence taking a walk about the streets accompanied almost always by Mr. Alden's New Foundland dog. Just before the final dissolution he had been ailing but a few days, and his last moments were as if he was passing into a quiet slumber. He was an elder brother of Mr. Chancy Lamb, and if his days had been extended until May 7 next he would have been eighty-three years of age. The funeral services will be held at the late home at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, followed by interment in Springdale.
