The Clinton Herald Monday January 17, 1944 p. 8 Mrs. Harriet L. Alden, widow of the late C.F. Alden, died at 7:45 o'clock last night in her home at 334 Fifth avenue, South. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon in the family home with Dr. Thomas Horton of St. John's Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Mrs. Alden was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Alden, executive of the former People's Trust and Savings bank, in Nov. 1923. The only survivors are nieces and nephews from out of the city.

The Clinton Herald Tuesday January 18, 1944 p. 8 Final rites for Mrs. Harriet L. Alden, 92, who died Sunday night in her home at 334 Fifth avenue, South, will be held in the home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Services will be solemnized by Dr. Thomas Horton, rector of St. John's Episcopal church, and interment will be in the family lot in Springdale cemetery. Harriet Lamb was born in Lafayette, Ind., Jan. 15, 1852, the daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lamb. She had been a resident of Clinton for the last 75 years and was an active member of St. John's Episcopal church and organizations of the parish. She was a member of the Associated Benevolent society, having served as president of that organization for many years. Mrs. Alden, last surviving member of her family, was the widow of the late Charles F. Alden, pioneer business man in Clinton. Others to precede her in death were three sisters and two brothers. Her only survivors are several nieces and a nephew. Relatives from out of the city who have arrived to attend the services are Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Vose and daughter, Margaret, and son, Charles, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Alden H. Vose and son, Baldwin, Westport, Conn.; Misses Clara and Mary Lamb and Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey Lamb, Michigan City, Ind.; and Mrs. Mable Maxwell, Peoria, Ill.
