The Clinton Herald Monday November 22, 1965 p. 11 Mrs. Catherine Hobein, 92, died Saturday afternoon at the Hillcrest nursing home in Beloit, Wis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pape funeral home, where friends may call. The Rev. Roy I. Priem, pastor of Community Congregational church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Hobein was born Sept. 4, 1873, in Lyons, the daughter of Otto and Elsie Schnau Jessen. She moved to Mt. Carroll, Ill., as a child, and returned to Clinton after her marriage to Louis Hobein, Mary 8, 1895, The couple resided in Clinton until moving to Beloit in 1960. The Hobeins celebrated their 68th wedding in May, 1963. he died in August, 1963. She was a member of Community Congregational church, the church Sewing Circle and Clinton Chapter 65, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Marguerite) Riggs of Beloit and Mrs. Frank (Lois) Martin of Winter Park, Fla.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her parents, twin sister and one brother.
