The Clinton Herald Tuesday January 29, 2002 p. 9A Carol Ann Holdgrafer, 66, Clinton, died Sunday at her home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Parish, St. Irenaeus Church, with the Rev. Lawrence Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. In accordance with her wishes, following the Mass, the body is to be cremated with inurnment at a later date in St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Holdgrafer, Ray DeVoe, Bob Emmert, John Josten, Jerry Huisinga and David Wagemester. She was born July 23, 1935, in Clinton to Karl and Donna Wulf Sporman. On Dec. 29, 1956, she married Maurice Holdgrafer in St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. She graduated from Clinton High School and received an associate's degree in education from Mount St. Clare College in 1954. She received a bachelor's degree in 1971 from Marycrest College in Davenport. She was an elementary educator, teaching in Welton and Thomson, Ill. She taught in the Clinton Public School system for 25 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, the Clinton Country Club and its ladies auxiliary, and the PEO, of which she had served as secretary. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Tracy Pray of Clinton; a son, Michael Holdgrafer of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Susan (Richard) Neubauer of Strongbille, Ohio; and a sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Death date: Jan. 27, 2002.
