The Clinton Herald Monday December 12, 1955 p. 15 Jens H. Geronzin, 83, of 2019 N. 6th St. died Sunday morning in Mercy hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 5 following a heart attack. He had lived with a daughter, Mrs. John Limoges in Fulton, Ill. for the past year. The body is at the Shadduck funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Carl Grabeomann, pastor of Chancy Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park cemetery. He was born on the island of Fuer near Denmark, March 27, 1872, the son of the late Carl and Johanna Geronzin. He came to the U.S. at the age of 15 and lived in the Clinton area most of his life. On Oct. 5, 1894, he was married to Emma Hansen. The couple farmed in Elk River township until 1943 when they moved to Clinton. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. J.J. (Viola) Timmer, Mrs. Marie Luckritz, Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Matzen, and Mrs. Ralph (Camilla) Wilkinson, all of Clinton, Mrs. Mildred Gaarde of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Limoges; five sons, Waldemar and Gifford of Sabula and Arnold, Manuel and Anson of Clinton; 34 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, three sisters, one grandson and one granddaughter.
