The Clinton Herald Friday May 8, 1959 p. 13 Anton S. (Tony) Jurgensen, 65, 1500 S. 4th St. died suddenly today at his home. The body is at the Snell-Smith funeral home where friends may call beginning at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, with the time to be announced later. Burial will be at Clinton Memorial Park cemetery. Anton Jurgensen was born March 9, 1894, in Clinton, the son of Magnus and Fredericka Matthiesen Jurgensen. He was educated in the Clinton public schools and had been a meat cutter and butcher all his life. He retired 2 years ago. He was a veteran of World War I and was married Jan. 30, 1951, to Jeanette Mallory. He was a member of the American Legion, Emulation Lodge 255, and DeMolay Consistory. He was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife; a brother, Magnus of Clinton; 2 sisters, Mrs. Martin Hardersen and Mrs. Hannah Weinbeck of Clinton, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, a son, parents, a brother, sister and a stepson.
