The Clinton Herald Tuesday July 22, 1952 p. 11 Mrs. William O. Wogens, 74, of 230 2nd Ave. S. died late Monday afternoon in her home following a three-year illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran church with Rev. M.E. Lesher officiating. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. The body is in the Snell funeral home where friends may call beginning at 7:30 o'clock tonight. Nellie Finch was born on July 8, 1878 in Lyndon, Ill., the daughter of Ezra and Ellen Greenlee Finch. She came to Clinton community in her early childhood where she has resided most of her life. She was married in Clinton to William O. Wogens on June 29, 1899. Mr. Wogens died in Dec. 1949, six months after the couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Surviving her are one son, Carroll A. Wogens of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Mrs. J.K. O'Neill of Cedar Falls; three granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Retta Howard of Clinton and Miss Fronie Champlain of Clinton. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
