BELLEVUE — Kenneth E. Gieseman, 91, of Bellevue, passed away, Wednesday, December 12th, 2007, at the Mill Valley Health Care Center in Bellevue.Kenneth was born August 9th, 1916 in Bellevue, son of the late John and Marie (Wiese) Gieseman. He married Thelma Michels on September 10th, 1940 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue. She survives. Kenneth was a farmer. He was on the St. John’s Church Council, Bellevue Community School Board and the former Bellevue Memorial Hospital Board. He also was an honorary member of the Bellevue Horseman’s Club of which he was one of the original organizers. He loved horses, dogs, fishing, the outdoors and his rides in the country. Most of all he enjoyed time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides his loving wife Thelma, his survivors include, three daughters, Connie (Eldon) Merfeld, Zwingle, Doris Greaves, Clinton and Diane (Rich) Norpel, Bellevue; grandchildren, Bryan (Kim) Gaylor, Kim (Jeff) Johnson, Scott Greaves and Troy (Sarah) Norpel; great-grandchildren, Kayley, Brandon, Nathan, Kinsey, Caleb, Alexa and Aurora; one brother, George (Adela) Giesemann, one sister, Verrena Dagitz-Stein; one sister-in-law, Mary Giesemann; one brother-in-law, Royal (Carol) Michels and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Giesemann, brothers-in-law, Melvin Dagitz and Ken Stein; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wilfred and Bernice Michels. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 17th, 2007, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Pastor Paul Gammelin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Kingery-John C. Lemke Funeral Home in Bellevue and again on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of services at the church. The Kingery~John C. Lemke Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of the arrangements. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their sincere thanks to the staff and employees at Mill Valley Care Center for the wonderful care for Ken.
