Mrs. C. Hardersen Dies at Camanche
Mrs. Catherine Hardersen died early this morning in her home, following two-days' illness. The body reposes in the Snell funeral home, Clinton, and will be brought to the family home at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. George W. Krueger of Zion Lutheran church, Clinton, will conduct services in the home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and in the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery, Clinton.
Mrs. Hardersen was born Aug. 5, 1862, in Germany. She was married in September of 1891 to Thomas Hardersen, and they made their home in Clinton for nine years before moving to a farm near Elvira. Following the death of her husband in 1906, Mrs. Hardersen resided in this community. She was a member of Zion church and of the Ladies' Aid.
She leaves six children, Carson, Peter, Edward and Christian Hardersen of Camanche, William of Clinton, Alvin of DeWitt, and Thomas of Anamosa; four step-children, Martin Hardersen, Mrs. John McNulty, and John Hardersen of Clinton and Mrs. William Theide of Chicago; 18 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. A daughter and two sisters, besides her husband, preceded her in death.
