Mrs. Clara Petersen, 73 of DeWitt died at 8:20 a.m. today at the DeWitt hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Friday in the Grace Lutheran church with Rv. Earl Elowsky officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen cemetery in Grand Mound. Friends may call at the McGinnis funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. Clara Gade was born on June 4, 1894 to Malta and Mary Schramm Gade in Grand Mound. She has lived the last 16 years in DeWitt. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran church. Survivors include two sons, Howard of Davenport and Robert of Lost Nation; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Margaret) Moeller of Davenport, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Scott Jr. of Baldwin and Mrs. Harold Betty Kruse of DeWitt; two brothers, Ben of Low Moor and Edward of Clinton and two sisters, Miss Emma of Low Moor and Mrs. William Goers of DeWitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter and two brothers.
