The Clinton Herald April 5, 1910 p. 6 The sad intelligence of the death of Mrs. Adam Meyer of this city, while at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Struve, at Hauntown, reached this city about 5 o'clock last evening. Mrs. Meyer had been ill for about a year and a half and two slight strokes of apoplexy recently had brought about her death. Mrs. Adam Meyer, aged 72 years, was born in Ohio, in 1838, and had lived in Lyons and vicinity for many years. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Adam Mayer, two daughter, Mrs. Wm. Struve of Hauntown and Mrs. Alva Rixen of this city and one son, Joseph Meyer residing on the old homestead near Hauntown. Mrs. Meyer was a woman of excellent qualities, a helpful wife, a loving mother and a kind friend. The sympathy and condolence of many friends is extended to the bereaved ones in their hour of loss and bereavement. The funeral will probably be held from the family residence on North Sixth street on Thursday.
