CLINTON — Paul E. Schluns, 58, of Clinton, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with military honors being conducted by Clinton AMVETS Post 28. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Paul Eugene Schluns was born on June 22, 1949, in Clinton, the son of Walter and Betty (Schneden) Schluns. He married Patricia A. Kane on May 1, 1971, in Camanche. Paul served in the United States Army serving from December 1970 retiring from the military in March of 1991. Paul was currently employed with the City of Clinton in the Street Department, and prior to that was employed with the Clinton MTA. Paul was a member of Clinton AMVETS Post 28, Clinton Aerie 705 Eagles Club and Clinton Moose Lodge 363. Paul is survived by his wife, Patricia of Clinton; one daughter, Beth (Chad) Holt of Abilene, Kansas; three sons, David E. (April) Schluns of Athens, Tennessee, Steven M. Schluns of Salina, Kansas, and Jeremy A. Schluns of Abilene, Kansas; five grandchildren, Mathew, Ty and Dylan Holt, and Cheyenne and Logan Schluns; four sisters, Nancy William of Hodges, South Carolina, Carol Rogers of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Pam Rode of Greer, South Carolina, and Debra (Phil) DeWitt of Clinton; two brothers, Timothy (Lisa) Schluns of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Michael (Laura) Schluns of Queens Creek, Arizona; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his parents. The family requests that memorials be made to American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
