Swanson, Mildred Cody

TIFTON, Ga. — Mildred Cody Swanson, 95, of Tifton, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2007, at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church with Father Lorenzo Garcia officiating. A private interment will be held later. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2007, at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors. Mrs. Swanson was born July 5, 1912, in Clinton, Iowa, to Henry W. Cody and Rose Rowe Cody, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Viola Robison Cody; her husband, Carl A. Swanson, who died in 1963; one son, Gary Arthur Swanson; one daughter, Junada Mae Swanson; one grandson, Harold Philip Rohrer; one son-in-law, Philip Rohrer; four sisters; and three brothers.Mrs. Swanson moved from Clinton, Iowa, to Thomasville in 1971. She had been a resident of Tifton since 1981. She was a member of Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church. Mrs. Swanson spent most of her life raising children for her family and as a nanny to many children.Mrs. Swanson is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law, Henry and Jeanne Swanson of Sarasota, Fla.; one daughter, Rosalie Rohrer of Tifton; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Swanson Sizemore of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Vernon Cody of Fulton, Ill.; 9 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.Please sign the guest registry at www.albritton-beaumontfuneralhome.com.Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.Death date: Nov. 20, 2007
