Nona Arth

Nona M. Arth, 86, of Clinton formerly of East Moline, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time Friday at the funeral home.

Nona Marie Goodson was born March 23, 1921 in Negley Texas, the daughter of William Wesley Goodson and Addie Mae (Landreth) Goodson.

Nona attended high school in Clarksville, Texas and attended art school in Dallas, Texas. She was an accomplished artist as well as a beautiful seamstress. She joined the service and served our country in the Second World War. While stationed in Eglind Field, Florida she met Robert Francis Arth of Duluth Minnesota and they were married December 7, 1944. After the war Nona and Bob moved to Moline, Illinois. They adopted their children John Henry (Ilene) Arth of East Moline, Illinois and Jane Ann Arth Heuer of Clinton, Iowa.

Nona worked as a window decorator in downtown Moline. Bob passed away Dec. 21st 1961. Nona worked for International Harvester until her retirement. She loved animals and gardening. She was devoted to her children and her grandchildren Tasha Jenny Arth and Blake Edward Arth of East Moline, Il. Nona is also survived by her sister: Livinnia Pauline Grant of Tallahassee, Florida.

In addition to her husband, Nona is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother.

The family requests that memorials be made to Mercy Hospice.
