The Clinton Herald Monday January 11, 1937 p. 5 Mrs. Maria Raun, 81, died at 8 o'clock last evening in her home, 905 North Second street, following an illness since Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the H.E. Bragonier chapel. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Maria Catherine Lund was born June 7, 1855, in Denmark, the daughter of Jurgen and Charlotte Schoenberg Lund. She was united in marriage Nov. 26, 1878, to Jens A. Raun, in Denmark. They came to the United States 48 years ago. Mrs. Raun was a member of the Danish sisterhood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dec. 3, 1933, and three daughters, Mrs. Lottie Williams, Mrs. Louis Luthans and Miss Mary Raun. Surviving are the following children, Mrs. T.E. Edgar, of this city, Mrs. Harry Rucker, Camanche, Henry Raun, Mrs. A.P.Holm, George Raun, J.A. Raun and Mrs. Anton Jurgensen, all of this city. Two sisters, Mrs. Kate Johnson of Fergus Falls, Minn., and Miss Augusta Lund, Cedar Rapids, 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. The body will be taken to the home this afternoon and will be returned to the Bragonier chapel Wednesday morning.
