The Clinton Herald Wednesday November 8, 1978 p. 9 Nies Jorgensen, 89, Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, formerly of 214 18th P., died today in Mercy Hospital. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Snell-Zornig Funeral Home with the Rev. Karl Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Jim Jorgensen, Peter Eggers, Wesley Detlefsen, Phil Sheridan and William and Elmer Domsalla. He was born June 24, 1889, in Cedar Falls, the son of Hans and Marie Ottens Jorgensen. He lived most of his life in Clinton. He married Freda Detlfesen June 24, 1910, in Clinton. Mr. Jorgensen was a brakeman for the Chicago and North Western Railroad, retiring in 1954. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Survivors include two sons, Harold H., Cedar Rapids, and Glenn E. Jorgensen, Leesburg, Fla.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ella Petersen, Peoria; and a brother, John, Concord, N.H. He was preceded in death by his wife.
