The Clinton Herald Wednesday October 10, 1962 p. 10 Fred P. Ehlers, 71, a Clinton County supervisor for 12 years, died at 8 a.m. today in Jane Lamb Hospital after a long illness. Ehlers, who lived at 218 19th Ave. N., was a director of the Hampshire Township School District for a number of years and a township trustee. He was born Dec. 15, 1890 in Hampshire Township, the son of Peter and Anna Naeve Ehlers. He was married Dec. 11, 1912 in Clinton to Agatha Hansen. A retired farmer, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Clinton County Farm Bureau and the Odeon Association. Surviving are his widow, one son, Dr. Gilbert Ehlers of Berwin, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. Robert (LaVonne) Raun of Clinton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. George Waldorf of Clinton and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers in infancy. The body is at the Pape funeral home where friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral arrangements are pending.
