The Clinton Herald Wednesday January 28, 1976 p. 12 Johannes L. Harksen, 90, formerly of 1103 N. 3rd St., died Tuesday afternoon in Jane Lamb Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter Andersen to officiate. Visitation will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Snell-Smith Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Rose of Sharon mausoleum in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Vernon Harksen, Wayne Harksen, Arnold Harksen, Martin Harksen, Curtis Young and Leonard Reimer. Mr. Harksen was born May 10, 1885, in Clinton County, the son of Martin L. and Pauline Petersen Harksen. He married Anna Eggers Feb. 12, 1913, in Clinton. His wife died in 1959. He was a retired Clinton County farmer and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Waldo (Violet) Mommsen, Clinton; one grandson and two great-granddaughters. Two sisters and six brothers preceded him in death.
