The Clinton Herald Monday February 6, 1995 p. 9 Clifford H. Eggers, 83, of 4219 200th St., died Friday at the Alverno Health Care Facility. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wayne Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Pape Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, David and Steven Eggers and David Young, a nephew, Eugene Eggers, and Donald Burken and Arnold Jost. Mr. Eggers was born May 9, 1911, in rural Clinton, to Hans and Emma Jones Eggers. He married Marvel Jurgensen, Nov. 20, 1935, in Clinton. She died Feb. 3, 1985. He farmed his entire life in Hampshire Township in Clinton County. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Loyal Order of the Moose, Eagles and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Reynold (Karen) Platt of Bryant, two sons, Wayne and Dean, both of Clinton; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Erma) Jurgensen of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Raymond of Clinton. He was preceded in death by a grandson and three brothers. Death date: Feb. 3, 1995.
