Shirley J. Wiersema, 80, 718 Valley View Drive, Fulton, Il died Sunday, October 28, 2007, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Il. Funeral service is at 10:30 am, Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the Fulton chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Wayne Wiersema, Pastor of Gateway Faith Fellowship, Fulton, Il.Visitation is 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Fulton chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and Gateway Faith Fellowship, Fulton, Il.

Shirley was born August 13, 1927 in Fulton, Il, to Joseph J. and Jane (Borgman) Shipma. She was reared and educated in the Fulton grade schools and attended Fulton High School, Fulton, Il.She married Edwin J. Wiersema on Feb. 22, 1947, in Fulton, Il. Edwin survives her. Shirley was a homemaker and she also farmed with her husband, Edwin, for many years. Prior to her marriage she worked at Burpee Seed Company, Clinton, and Schick Hospital, Clinton, during WWII.She was a member of Gateway Faith Fellowship, Fulton, Il. She was an avid walker. She enjoyed gardening, yardwork and reading. She always loved music.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin; three daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Norman) Criss, Fulton, Susan (Mrs. Kenneth) Hartman, Fulton, Pamela (Mrs. Leslie) Huisingh, Fulton; one son, Wayne (Mary) Wiersema, Fulton; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Housenga, Fulton, Gladys (Mrs. Harold) Van Dyke, Fulton, Mrs. Evelyn Gendvilas, Clinton.

Deceased relatives include one brother, John Shipma; two sisters, Beverly Houzenga and Helen Hine; two grandchildren, Lisa Criss and Elisha Wiersema.
