Valbert, Edna A.

Edna A. Valbert, age 99, of Thomson, Illinois, died Friday, October 26, 2007 at home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Assembly of God Church, Savanna, Illinois with Reverend Rob Duffy officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.

A memorial has been established in Edna’s memory.

Edna was born March 13, 1908 in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Samuel E. and Olga E. (Trautmann) Fox. She married James Roy Valbert on May 12, 1928 in Wheaton, Illinois. James passed away on October 25, 1976. Edna was a homemaker, but also worked for Valves and Controls in Savanna for several years. She was an avid reader, and loved flower gardening, and her church.

Edna will be dearly missed by her daughters, Beverly (Chuck) Tilston of Thomson and Lake Havasu, Arizona, Shirley (late John) Kot of Grant Park, Illinois, Nancy (late Ron) Valbert of Chicago, Illinois, and Patsy (Dave) Valbert of West Plains, Missouri; and her son, James (Lola) Valbert of West Plains; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, and two grandsons Kenneth, and Paul Williams.
