Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lemke Funeral Homes, Lyons Chapel, 2304 N. Second St. The Rosary, led by the Knights of Columbus, will be said at 7 p.m.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace Parish Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Hennen officiating.

CLINTON — Dolores Byrnes Winkel, 88, of Clinton, died Saturday at Mercy North Hospital. Private burial will be Wednesday at St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus.

She was born June 29, 1919, in Ponca, Neb., to James and Elizabeth Berens Byrnes. She married Edward James Winkel on Nov. 2, 1940, at St. Patrick’s Church in Clinton. She was a 1936 graduate of Millbank (S.D.) High School. She worked with the Clinton Garment Factory, Burpee Seed Co. and retired from A.C. Nielsen’s with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, Daughters of Isabella, Prince of Peace Ladies Auxiliary and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, serving as an officer. She was a Third Order of St. Francis, helped with Meals on Wheels for many years and was a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary for more than 10 years. She also was a member of the Alverno Health Care Facility Red Hat Society where she resided.

Survivors include one daughter, Lois (Ben) Sneed of Hendersonville, N.C.; one son, James (Charlotte) Winkel of Clinton; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
