SERVICES: A celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction, with the Rev. Curtis Girod officiating.

OXFORD JUNCTION — Gary L. Usher, 57, of Oxford Junction died Thursday at his home. Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction.

Gary Lynn Usher was born on June 7, 1950, in Maquoketa, to Lincoln and Lois O’Hearn Usher. He married Kathy Sheldon on Dec. 31, 1976, in West Branch. He worked in trucking, logging and small engine repair. He also was a school bus driver for Midland Community Schools. He had served on the Oxford Junction Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Usher, Oxford Junction; one daughter, Marsha Voy, of Maquoketa; four sons, Junior (Kelly) Petersen, Davenport, Chad (Wendy) Petersen, Bennett, Curt (Brandie) Usher, Oxford Junction and Landon (Christina) Usher, Blairstown; 14 grandchildren; his father, Lincoln (Beverly) Usher, Delmar; four sisters, Wanda (Richard) Tracy, Monmouth, Deb (Randy) Gile, Wyoming, Brenda (Mike) Meade, Onslow and Geraldine (Allen) Archer, Ottumwa; three brothers, Ron (Wendy) Usher, Menahga, Minnesota, Dean (Lee Ann) Clark, Cascade and Bill (Pat) Clark, Phoenix, Ariz.; and his mother-in-law, Vera Sheldon, Oxford Junction.
