SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scott officiating.

MAQUOKETA — Alma E. Koontz, 77, of Maquoketa, died Saturday at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa.

She was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Maquoketa to John H. and Meta Bertha Sopha Wiedeman Hinz. She married Clinton Robert “Bob” Koontz on April 14, 1947, in Maquoketa. She worked at Hoffman Eggs in Maquoketa and then Clinton Engines for 15 years as a press operator. She then worked for Collis Co., Clinton, as a welder and finally at Casey’s.

Survivors include her husband; children, Terry (Cindy) Koontz of Maquoketa, Randy (Pattiey) Koontz of Lewis, Yvonne (Brent) Port of Marshalltown and Renee (Bill) Budde of Maquoketa; one brother, Jack (Agnes) Hinz of Maquoketa; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

An Alma E. Koontz Memorial Fund has been established. Condolences may be made online at www.carsonandson.com.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, four brothers, four sisters and one grandchild.
