Clyde W. Kelly passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at the Alverno Health Care Facility, moving there in February of 2005 from The Sarah Harding Home where he had lived for almost 18 years.

The son of Frank and Anne Healness Kelly, he was born on March 18, 1901. He attended Clinton schools and had lived all of his life in Clinton, Iowa. Mr. Kelly was a retired plumber and well known in this area as an avid fisherman. His greatest joys were a day on the Mississippi in his boat or having pancakes at his favorite restaurant in Sabula, at The Island City Café. He and his stepdaughter Maxine were Monday morning regulars there. He was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his four children, Phyllis Hansen of Arlington, WA, Janice (Joseph) Ambrose of North Port, FL, Ronald (Shirley) Kelly of The Villages, FL, Jeanne (Jim) Kerens of Tampa, FL, three step-children, Robert (Audra) of Churchill, TN, Gail Mauck and Maxine Wagner of Clinton, IA. Also 19 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his spouses, stepson Eugene Mauck, and four great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no Funeral Service, but a celebration of his 106 years will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 2:30 PM at Sarah Harding Home with Rev. Fred Schauer of Chancy Lutheran Church presiding. Memorials may be made to the Sarah Harding Home or Chancy Lutheran Church.
