SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 107 E. First, Anamosa.

ANAMOSA — Glenn Brown, 84, of Anamosa and formerly of Olin, died Friday at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Burial will be in Olin Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 1, 1923, in Mechanicsville to Charlie and Elmae Jeffers Brown. He married Carmen Zaruba on July 24, 1949, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Olin. He graduated from Olin Consolidated School in 1940. He farmed in the Olin area following graduation until retiring to Olin in 1986. He was active with many farm related organizations. He served on the following boards and or committees: Jones County Beef Producers, Cedar Valley Farm Business Association, Farmers Home Loan Committee and Jones County Planning Commission. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa and was a former member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Olin. He was an active mason. He was a 60-plus-year member of Ancient Landmark Lodge in Olin and also was a member of Bellevue Lodge 51. He was a member of both the York and Scottish Rite bodies and served as grand master of the Masons in Iowa in 1984.

Survivors include his wife. Memorials may be given to Masonic Lodge Ancient Landmark 200 in Olin.
