Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chuck Johnson officiating.

CAMANCHE — Robert P. Duncan, 84, of Camanche, died Saturday at his home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche, with military honors conducted by the Camanche VFW.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Lance Duncan, Creighton Duncan, Brandon Duncan, Ryan Duncan, Nate Duncan, Brent Plambeck, Brian Plambeck, Ryan Duncan and Trenton Duncan.

He was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Camanche to John and Hazel Green Duncan. He married Virginia Courts on Nov. 21, 1945, in Burlington. She died in July.He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Alcoa as a metal pourer for 30 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Camanche; 25-year Club at Alcoa; Alcoa Retired Club; and the Local 105 Retired Club.

Survivors include four sons, Darrell (Medina) Duncan of Camanche, Royce (Fern) Duncan of LeClaire, Robert J. (Debra) Duncan of Camanche and Greg (Leah) Duncan of Camanche; one daughter, Cindy (Steve) Plambeck of Kalona, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church or Mercy Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five sisters and two brothers.
