The Clinton Herald Tuesday August 23, 1960 p. 8 Mrs. Orin Evans, 57, of 524 17th Ave. S., died in her home late Monday afternoon. The body is in the Snyder funeral home where friends may call after 7 p.m. tonight. A requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today by the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, and at 8 p.m. by the Daughters of Isabella. The parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Third Order of St. Francis will recite the rosary at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Irene McGovern was born in Clinton, May 30, 1903, the daughter of John and Mary Keohaugh McGovern. She married Orin Evans in 1923 in St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Evans was a member of St. Mary's parish, the Daughters of Isabella, Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Third Order of St. Francis. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, St. Mary Natalie, O.S.F., of Mt. St. Clare, Mrs. Samuel Toner of Chilium, Md., and Mary Ann and Katherine Evans, both living at home; two sons, James Patrick Evans of Milwaukee, Wis., and David, at home; two brothers, J.T. McGovern and W.F. McGovern of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. George Holm and Mrs. William Miller of Clinton; and seven granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
