The Clinton Herald Tuesday January 1, 1929 p. 13 Preston, Iowa. Jan. 1 - (Special) Funeral services for Elizabeth Jeffries Seeber, who passed away at her home Saturday morning at 1 o'clock were held at the Congregational church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. J. Robert Hoerner officiating. The pallbearers were F.A. Hunter, E.C. Neilson, John Hansen, Harry Otto, Herman Sodeman and Frank Wells. Mrs. Seeber was a devoted member of the Congregational church since her marriage, a member of the O.E.S. local chapter, who also took part in the funeral services. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery at Clinton. Elizabeth Jeffries was born in Syracuse, N.Y. Oct. 6, 1850 and was 78 years of age at the time of her death. In the year 1874 she was married to Charles M. Seeber to which union two children were born, Harrie, who died in 1910, and Mrs. John Bryant of Mt. Vernon, Iowa. After living on their farm in Clinton county 27 years, Mr. and Mrs. Seeber moved to Preston and have been respected citizens for 27 years.----celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home amid scores of relatives and friends. Besides the husband and daughter who survive, there are four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Geraldine Bryant of Mt. Vernon, Norma and Roy Seeber of Owego, N.Y., one brother, J.Q. Jefferies of Clinton, a nephew, Lyle Jefferies of Clinton and two nieces, Mrs. Frances Durrenberger of New York city and Mrs. Blanche Lynn of Wauchula, Florida. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Seeber of Chicago; Mrs. N.G. Craig of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Jefferies of Clinton; Mrs. Nell Grote of Clinton; Mrs. George Smith of Clinton; and Miss Clara Hanson of Clinton.
