The Clinton Herald Friday November 25, 1932 Word has been received from J.Q. Jefferies, who has been with his daughter for the last six weeks, that Frances Elizabeth Jefferies Durrenberger died at 5 o'clock this morning in her home in Valdosta, Ga. Her husband and father will arrive in Clinton at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, bringing the body back to her girlhood home. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. She was the daughter of J.Q. and the late Clara Jefferies, born April 1, 1901. She was graduated from Clinton High school in 1919, later attending Grinnell college, then the University of Chicago and received her M.A. degree in Columbia Uniiversity, New York city. She taught for a time in Clinton high school. Married June 21, 1926, she was the mother of two children, Joseph Warren, age 5, and John Charles, age 1. Her mother died in December of 1927. She had always been a member of St. John's Episcopal church and was a member of Clinton chapter, 65, O.E.S. She leaves to mourn her husband, her two sons, her father and her brother Lyle M. Jefferies.
