SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Laura Renault officiating.
CLINTON — Vandahl N. Buckneberg, 78, of Clinton, died Sunday at Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton.
Burial will be in Fulton Township Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Curt Smith, Jim Fish, Wayne Quick, Roger Wiese, Merle Larson and Paul Buckneberg.
He was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Centerville, S.D., to Martin and Mabel Knudson Buckneberg. He married Marlys Swanson on June 2, 1948, at Skresfrued Lutheran Church in Beersford, S.D.
He was a 1945 graduate of Centerville High School.
He farmed in South Dakota for many years. He also was a feed salesman and manager with Columbian Feeds in Kansas City, Mo., before retiring when he moved to Clinton in 1999.
He was a member of First Congregational Church.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Gloria (Steve) Lyle of Alpharetta, Ga.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Alfred (Ruth) Buckneberg of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one son-in-law.
