Patricia A. Haferbier

Patricia A. Haferbier, 81, of Clinton died Friday at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Monday from 4-8pm at Lemke Funeral Home Lyons Chapel, 2304 N. 2nd Street, Clinton. Father Tony Herold will officiate. Pallbearers will be Clayton Haferbier, Brian Haferbier, Erin Haferbier, Kevin Haferbier, Jared Haferbier, and Mitchell Winstead. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Patricia was born March 17, 1925 in Charlotte, IA to George R. and Blanche (Farrell) Hansen. She attended Charlotte High School. After High School she attended Scovell Business College for two years. She married Gilbert Haferbier on October 10, 1942 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death in 1996. Patricia worked as a Nurses Aide at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital from 1961-1978. She was also employed with Sweatheart Bakery from 1980 until her retirement in 1988. Patricia was an avid reader. Her greatest love was her children and her grandchildren. Patricia was also a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Parish.

She is survived by her three sons; Terry Haferbier of Clinton, Mick (Sonja) Haferbier of Story City, IA; and Mark (Diana) Haferbier of Clinton; one daughter, Patty (Mark) Matheis of Clinton; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother; Jack R. Hansen of Clinton; three sisters; Dorothy (Ed) Langrehr of Clinton; Gladys Meighan of Sterling, IL; and Carmilla Nelson of Dixon, IL.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son James; one brother, and one sister.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
