Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. today at Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the procession Tuesday to the church.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bellevue. The Revs. Stephen Meyer and Richard Schaefer will be officiating.

BELLEVUE — Dolores “Dee” K. Ernst, 79, of Bellevue, died Friday at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

She was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Bellevue to Clarence J. and Florence S. Efferding Koppes. She married Eugene “Tuffy” Ernst on Sept. 4, 1946, in Bellevue.

She was a telephone operator with the Iowa Telephone Co., Bellevue, and later worked at the Savanna (Ill.) Army Depot. She also worked as a teacher’s aide with Bellevue High School and Bellevue Marquette.

She was a member of Bellevue American Legion Post 273 Ladies Auxiliary. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dennis (Jane) Ernst and Dale (Jo) Ernst, both of Bellevue; one daughter, Debbie (Lorin) Schwager of Bellevue; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dorrence (Mary Lou) Koppes of Arizona, Russell (Ruby) Koppes of Montana and Ronald (Elizabeth) Koppes of Bellevue; and five sisters, Joan Dickerson and Vera Patterson, both of Arizona, Joyce (Richard) Mahnke of Peosta and Marilyn (Wayne) Kratz and Carol (Carl) Heying, both of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one nephew, one great-nephew, mother- and father-in-law and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
