Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, is in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. David Brownfield will be officiating.

WHEATLAND — Chad L. Hintz, 36, of Wheatland, died Tuesday at his home.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.

Pallbearers will be Jay Block, Jan Block, Scott Galloway, Alan Anderson, Chris Grell, Brett Omer, George Kastantin and Dean Benischek; Billy Dolan, Joby Proesch, Kurt Denahy, Ryan “Kip” Denahy, Jon Gregoire, Paul Stankee, Dylan Hintz, Chad O’Neill and Michael Hoker.

He was born April 29, 1970, in Davenport to Gary and Mary Kae Denahy Hintz. He married Traci on May 30, 1998, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wheatland.

He graduated from DeWitt Central High School in 1988.

He was an EMT and worked with the DeWitt Ambulance Service. He later was a heavy equipment operator with Meeker Farms, Buffalo, Iowa, for several years. He drove a semi-truck for many years and formed his own company, Chad Hintz Trucking.

He was a member of the Wheatland Fire Department and Eastern Iowa Snowmobile Association.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Tonie Hintz, of Wheatland; one stepson, Michael Hoker of Davenport; two stepdaughters, Lindsey and Kayzie Hoker, both of Wheatland; parents, Gary (Marty Dusanek) Hintz of Grand Mound and Mary Kae (Steve Bierman) Hintz of DeWitt; one sister, Julie (Mark) Delever of Grand Mound; grandmother, Althea Denahy of DeWitt; one aunt, Vivian Dodge of Bettendorf; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
