Dean Bowman

Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Nathan Combs officiating.

MAQUOKETA — Dean Bowman, 80, of Maquoketa, died Friday at the Maquoketa Care Center.

Burial will be in Buckhorn Cemetery, Maquoketa.

Pallbearers will be Matt Williams, Brad and Brock Bowman, Mitch and Aaron Scott and Bill Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joellen Scott, Leanne Williams and Kacy Rae Williams.

He was born March 6, 1926, in Jackson County to O.J. and Zelma Wilson Bowman. He married Mary E. McGaffee on May 26, 1946, at the Maquoketa United Methodist parsonage.

He graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1943.

He was a farmer.

He was a member of the Jackson County Farm Bureau, Maquoketa, and served on the Buckhorn Creamery Board for many years.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Linda (Steve) Scott of Baldwin; one son, Larry (Ann) Bowman of Maquoketa; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother-in-law, Byrl Denlinger of Wyoming, Iowa; and mother-in-law, Grace McGaffee, of Maquoketa.
