Thais M. Neff

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Calamus, with the Rev. Susen LeBlanc officiating.

CALAMUS — Thais M. Neff, 89, of Calamus, died Friday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Calamus.

She was born Thais Marie Marron on May 23, 1917, in Calamus to Lester and Norma White Marron. She married Raymond Neff on Oct. 9, 1935, at the Wyoming (Ill.) United Methodist Church parsonage. He died in 2001.

She and her husband farmed in rural Calamus.

She was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Calamus, and United Methodist Women. She also was a member of several bridge clubs.

Survivors include one daughter, Penelope “Penny” (Dick) Peterson of Davenport; one son-in-law, David Ives of Columbia, Mo.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Genesis Hospice and VNA or the Genesis Medical Center-DeWitt Foundation.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, parents and one brother.
