Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, and noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.

CLINTON — Carl F. Tehan, 97, of Clinton, died Saturday at his home.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.

Pallbearers will be Danny Zimmerman, Danny Zimmerman Jr., James Drahos, John Wagner and Jeff and Carl Ryan.

He was born Dec. 28, 1909, in Belle Plaine to Edward and Josephine Homalar Tehan. He married Frances Moore on March 8, 1939, in Unionville, Mo.; she died in 1983.

He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1928.

He worked as a switchman with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for more than 36 years before retiring in 1975.

He was a member of United Transportation Union Local 316 for more than 65 years.

Survivors include one son, Edward C. (Michelle) Tehan of Avon Park, Fla.; one daughter, Janalee (Edward) Ryan of Clinton; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Katherine Zimmerman of Belle Plaine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters.
