Reynold Matz

Visitation: 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Parish.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Lemke Funeral Homes, Lyons Chapel, is handling arrangements.

CLINTON — Reynold W. Matz, 99, of Clinton, died Friday at the Alverno Health Care Facility.

Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill, Jim and Patrick McCabe, Matthew Froeschle, Billy Matz and Steve Golderman.

He was born Dec. 7, 1907, in Clinton to William and Mary Ann Klein Matz. He married Genevieve Lutz on June 29, 1935, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He was a graduate of Clinton High School and earned an engineering degree from Iowa State University in 1931.

He was the manager of the engineering department at Clinton Corn.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Clinton Engineering Club and Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Parish.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo McCabe of Davenport; a son, Reynold (Stephanie) Matz Jr. of Hawthorn Woods, Ill., seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret (Michael) Johannsen of Clinton.

Memorials may be made to the Alverno Health Care Facility.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
