Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Reformed Church, Fulton, with the Rev. Scott Lokers, pastor, Overisel Reformed Church, Holland, Mich., officiating.

FULTON, Ill. — Stanley Bielema, 80, of Fulton, died Thursday at his home.

Burial will be at Fulton Township Cemetery.

He was born June 18, 1926, in Fulton to Clarence and Anna Balk Bielema. He married Marjorie Juist on May 11, 1948, in Fulton.

He attended rural grade schools in Carroll County, Ill., and graduated from Thomson High School and Central College, Pella.

He farmed for several years and later owned Bielema Oil Co. in Fulton for several years. Most recently he owned and operated Blackboard Maintenance Company, Fulton, until retiring.

He was a former member of Spring Valley Reformed Church, Fulton, and its Men’s Brotherhood. He also served as an elder and deacon. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church and its Men’s Brotherhood. He served that church as an elder. He was a member of the Fulton Kiwanis Club and secretary of the Fulton Fire Department, which he served as a trustee for 35 years. He also served as trustee and Fulton Township Supervisor for many years. He served on the River Bend School Board and the boards of directors for Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton; Fulton Township Cemetery; and Words of Hope Ministry and Camp Manitoqua Christian Day Camp, Frankfort, Ill. He also was a 30-year charter member of the Fulton Country Club.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie (Rick) Van Heukelom of Grand Haven, Mich., and Lori (Robert) Van Zuiden of Morrison, Ill.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (Bob) Venema of Fulton and Esther (Dick) Ebbers of Morrison; and one brother, Kenneth Bielema of Fulton.

A memorial fund has been established.
