Robert Lee Ventres, age 82 of Springfield, died on Monday, January 22 at Greenspring Village in Springfield.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Ventres of Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield; his daughters, Linda (and Jeff) Olesen of Athens, Greece and Suzanne (and Chris) Miller of Stanwood, Washingon; brother, Dale Ventres of Redlands, California; grandchildren: Dawn, Mark, Brad and Wendy; great-grandchildren: Kaelee and Talan.
Relatives and friends may call Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Dr., Alexandria, VA on Saturday from 2-4. Services will take place on Monday, February 26 at 1 PM at Ft. Myer Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Capital Hospice, Attn: Development Office, 6565 Arlington Blvd. Suite 501, Falls Church, VA 22042, Fisher House Foundation, Inc, Attn: Walter Reed House, 1401 Rockville Pike, Suite 600, Rockville, Maryland 20852 or the American Cancer Society, 124 Park St., SE, Vienna, VA 22180 in memory of Robert Ventres.
