Visitation: 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Keith D. Simmons officiating.

CLINTON — Delbert G. Dalton Jr., 50, of Clinton, died Monday at Mercy North Hospital, Clinton.

Cremation rites will take place and burial will be in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson, Ill.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hackney, Dan Schroeder, Jim Foley, Doug Sharp, Mark Stevens, Dan Fisher, Ron Humlick, Craig Abbott and Michael, John, Robert and Fay Dalton.

He was born Dec. 7, 1956, in Anaconda, Mont., to Delbert and Silvania Howell Dalton Sr. He married Dawn Caselton on Sept. 3, 1988, in Clinton.

He graduated from Camanche High School in 1976.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Jouett CG-29 and the USS Grand Canyon AR-28.

He worked as a press man with International Paper for more than 20 years and recently in the milling department with Archer Daniels Midland.

He was a member of Northside Church of God. He was active with Cub Scouts as a den leader.

Survivors include his wife; four children, David and Josh Dalton, at home, and Timothy (Heather) Hoffman and Rebecca Hoffman, both of Clinton; three grandchildren; his mother, Silvania Dalton of Clinton; stepmother, Ellen Dalton of Grants Pass, Ore.; two brothers, Michael (Maureen) Dalton of Grants Pass and John (Debbie) Dalton of Des Moines; two sisters, Tina (Bob) Stammer of Albany, Ill., and Vicki Leonard of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
