Irene “Red” Ralston

Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa. Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, is in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. James Chappell and Deacon Bob Head officiating.

MAQUOKETA — Irene “Red” Ralston, 99, of Maquoketa, died Monday at the Maquoketa Care Center.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa.

She was born March 15, 1907, in Monmouth, Iowa, to Francis Leo and Hannah Eleanor Kane Ralston.

She was educated in Baldwin and Monmouth schools.

She worked with the Savanna (Ill.) Ordinance and South Bend, Ill., Fishing Tackle in Maquoketa and was a machinist at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa until she retired.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary, Maquoketa.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
