Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, with the Rev. Jon W. Nienhuis, pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, officiating.

MORRISON, Ill. — Jeanette Smith, 97, of Morrison, died Saturday at her daughter’s home in Cherry Valley, Ill.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.

She was born April 17, 1909, in Morrison to Harry J. and Anna Johnson Newendyke. She married John W. Smith on Dec. 31, 1930, in Lyndon, Ill. She died in 1964.

She was educated in the rural Whiteside County (Ill.) schools.

She and her husband farmed in rural Morrison.

She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison. She was a charter member of the Lydian and Ladies Aid and was a member of the quilters at the church.

Survivors include one daughter, Jereen (Richard) Landsee of Cherry Valley; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Dora (Homer) Pessman of Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and one brother.
