Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte, with the Rev. Scott Lemaster officiating.

GOOSE LAKE — Louis E. Sullivan, 76, of Goose Lake, died Sunday at Mercy North Hospital.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Bryant. Military rites will be accorded.

He was born Jan. 15, 1931, to Ambrose E. and Alma L. Brammerlo Sullivan in Preston. He married Maxine A. Medinger on May 5, 1956, at St. Peter Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook.

He attended Miles schools and graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1949.

He served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953.

He farmed in Goose Lake and Bryant for more than 50 years. He drove a truck with the Preston Creamery and was a fireman with Clinton Corn. He also sold seed corn for Cornelius Corn, Andrew.

He was a member of Miles Iowa American Legion and was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and Northeast Iowa School Board. He also was a member of the Goose Lake Lions Club and Goose Lake and Charlotte Saddle clubs.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald Sullivan and Rick (Lisa) Sullivan, both of Bryant; five daughters, Colleen Goddard of Clinton, Maureen (Terry) Geerts of Clinton, Diane (Michael) Flesch of Bryant, Janet (Gregory) Kilburg of Bellevue and Kathy Sullivan of Clinton; one brother, Vernon Sullivan of Clinton; one sister, Mariel Adamson of Bloomington, Minn.; two sisters-in-law; 19 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.
