SERVICES: Private services at Kingery-Lemke Funeral Home, Bellevue, with the Rev. Dr. Marsha M. Wilfong officiating.

BELLEVUE — Edwin Fischer, 85, of Bellevue, died Sunday at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.

Burial will be in Presbyterian Cemetery, Bellevue.

He was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Artas, S.D., to Andrew and Katherine Boehler Fischer. He married Florence May Pfiefer on Feb. 14, 1943, in Zeeland, N.D.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, based in Okinawa, Japan.

He was an agent and operator for the Milwaukee Railroad, which later became the Soo Line Railroad.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and member of Bellevue American Legion Post 273. He also was a member of the Barbershoppers of Sheldon.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Vivian (John) Pitlo of Bellevue; and one sister, Irene Heiser of Washington.
