The Clinton Herald Monday July 23, 1979 p. 11 Mrs. Hazel A. Ellis, 91, of 722 S. 12th ST., died on her birthday Sunday at Jane Lamb Hospital. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Canon Bernard J. Miars officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Snell-Zorning Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Pallbearers will be Bruce Townsend, David Schaff, Lawrence Shoenig, Richard Paulson, Roscoe Wagner and Mike DeSirey. She was born July 22, 1888, in Camanche, to Adolph and Lottie Hay Arp. She married Frank W. Ellis, a prominent attorney who died in 1949. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a life member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lyons Chapter, PEO Chapter HV, Agatha Circle, Delphian Society, Clinton Country Club, on the board of the Clinton Visiting Nurses Association, and was a past member of the Jane Lamb Hospital board of trustees. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs. Merrill Arp, Phoenix, Ariz.; two nieces, Mrs. Bruce Piersall, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Mrs. Daniel Ellis, Dague, Av.; and two nephews, Earl H. Ellis, Denver, Colo., and Robert D. Ellis Pueblo, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
